The following are utilities included in Cygwin base and cygwin packages to help integrate UNIX paradigms into Windows and vice-versa. They are stored in the Cygwin root and associated directories.

mkpassd=== creates/updates /etc/passwd with all Windows accounts and SIDs on the system. Must be run every time users are added to Windows.
mkgroup[]
creates/updates /etc/group with all Windows accounts and SIDs on the system. Must be run every time groups are added to Windows, or users are moved/added to Windows groups.
ssh-host-config[]
Utility for installing SSHD as a Windows service, and setting it up to run under a privilege-separated Windows service account.
nfs-[]
Utility to install and configure NFS server as a Windows service.
